OUR JOURNEY

BACKGROUND

The need for an anti-bacterial coating

The need to develop a surface anti-bacterial coating that would last more than a couple of weeks before re-application, gained further impetus due to the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic. This combined with the recent government legislation that Black Mould must be dealt with within a

2-week timescale has made the need greater than ever.

The impact of the Covid 19 pandemic was felt throughout society with lockdowns, masks, and social distancing. Then the death of a little boy in Rochdale, Lancashire, due to black mould, made the requirement to do whatever possible to create something to support new hygiene standards which will be the norm of the future and will help combat the spread of existing and new bacterial contamination.

Combatting mould in homes, hospitals, workplaces & more

The need was for a product that could be used both commercially in offices, shops, hospitals and all other workplaces.

The result, named G21, is a long lasting anti-bacteria coating, effective for up to ten years in a solvent based product and 5 years in an emulsion.

Both can combat over 2000 bacteria’s, preventing transmission by touching contaminated surfaces. It also combats black mould, which has been endemic in rented accommodation in the UK and elsewhere.

The emulsion based G21 anti-mould paint system is being used in local authorities and housing associations properties that must be kept in a safe clean environment for their tenants. Current clients include, amongst others, Barnet Homes, Lewisham Council, Notting hill Genesis, and Network Homes.
